GIVE advances longevity and quality of life through preventive health programs, food education, and community-driven innovation.
GIVE (Global Impactful Vision Efforts) Inc. is a civic innovation organization based in Queens, NY, reimagining how emerging technology can advance human dignity.
We train the next generation of ethical AI builders, prototype solutions alongside residents, and scale local innovations into sustainable, community-owned systems.
Our approach combines education, design, and incubation — transforming public systems through agentic, accessible, and people-centered technology
Chronic disease and food insecurity are deeply connected.
Across the world and in communities here in New York City, millions of families face barriers to healthy food, preventive healthcare, and health education.
These barriers lead to rising rates of:
diabetes
heart disease
preventable illness
reduced life expectancy
Improving health outcomes requires more than access to food — it requires knowledge, community support, and preventive care.
We equip high-school and college students with hands-on skills in ethical AI, data literacy, and no-code automation.
Through workshops, hackathons, and mentorship, students learn to design agentic AI — systems that reflect community values and drive public good.
Goal: Build a pipeline of responsible technologists from Queens to Abroad
Our Labs bring together residents, civic leaders, and technologists to prototype new AI tools that solve local challenges — from health access to food insecurity and public benefits navigation.
Each lab emphasizes human-centered design, community governance, and open-source collaboration.
Goal: Transform lived experience into measurable systems change.
The Vision Institute turns successful pilots into sustainable civic technologies.
We mentor project teams, support cooperative ownership models, and build pathways for community ventures to thrive — keeping data, jobs, and innovation rooted where they began.
Goal: Create a global ecosystem of community-owned AI initiatives.
NourishAI is GIVE’s flagship AI infrastructure — a bilingual health and nutrition assistant built to improve access to preventive care in underserved communities.
The technology integrates local grocery data, public benefit systems (SNAP, WIC, EBT), and cultural dietary insights to generate personalized meal plans, grocery lists, and health reminders via familiar platforms like WhatsApp.
Built Using: SupabaseDB | DeepSeek LLM | WhatsApp API | Open Governance Framework
Key Capabilities:
Medically tailored, culturally relevant, and locally sourced meal recommendations
Family-based health data management and reminders
Integration with local grocers and food benefit systems
Voice-enabled support for Spanish-speaking users
Picking Matters is GIVE’s first Community Impact Lab pilot, testing how NourishAI technology can improve real-world food access and chronic health outcomes in Hispanic communities of Corona and Flushing, Queens.
The 10-week pilot unites families, healthcare professionals, and local grocers to co-design a data-driven model of preventive healthcare through nutrition.
How It Works:
Week 1: Community clinic and participant onboarding (health data intake and AI training)
Weeks 2–9: Families use Nori (NourishAI assistant) for weekly meal guidance, grocery delivery, and nutrition check-ins
Week 10: Final clinic, evaluation, and community debrief
Purpose:
Insights from the Picking Matters pilot will directly inform NourishAI’s continued development and model scalability for other health equity initiatives.
Across Queens and Guatemala, GIVE has combined digital innovation with grassroots action.
From youth-run community gardens to civic hackathons, our programs demonstrate how locally built technology can reimagine health, education, and opportunity.
Since 2024:
